The 90's
While plaster was a material option for cladding in the 70’s and 80’s, this was mostly the more traditional solid plaster, but in the 90’s came the revelation of the “modified” plaster system. This opened up a whole lot of new design options but consequentially left the door open for a lot of failures due to a lack of understanding and care in the use of these new systems, driven by the marketing of the new design opportunities these provided.
Many of these early homes incorporated these systems, either partly or fully, direct fixed and with the blessing of local authorities and BRANZ.
